About Access Permissions in Litify Financials

Like most aspects of your firm's financial information, Litify Financials requires permission to be accessed. This ensures the utmost security within your organization. This access is managed using Permission Sets.

Litify Financials comes with four unique permission sets:

Required Permission Sets

The following permission sets are required to use Litify Financials.

Financial Summary Setup Admin

This permission set gives admin users permission to configure Litify Financials using the Financial Summary Setup app. You must assign this permission set to at least one user, as it's needed to create configurations and view existing configurations. This permission set includes access to the Financial Summary Setup app and all Transaction object permissions.

Financial Summary User

This permission set is required to access Litify Financials. It provides access to the Summary and Ledger components, and is needed to view and interact with configurations on a Matter. The Financial Summary User permission set also grants the ability to access the Ledger, but not permission to interact with the Transaction object.

Optional Permission Sets

There are two optional permission sets which grant non-admin users access to the Transaction object and Ledger.

Financial Summary/Ledger: Manage Transactions

This permission set provides users with access to the Transaction object, and read/write permissions for its fields. Users will not be able to delete Transactions without also adding the delete permission. Users won't be able to create Transactions without this permission set; however, they will be able to view existing Transactions in the Ledger.

Financial Summary/Ledger: Delete Transactions

This permission set provides access to the Transaction object and all of its fields, and includes permission to delete existing Transactions. It's not required to create or view Transactions in the Ledger.

Blocked Access Scenarios

Users will not be able to access the Financials or Ledger component on a Matter in the following scenarios:

  • User is missing apex class controller access to the component.
  • User is lacking object security access to any object added to the summary table.
  • User is lacking field level access on any object added to the summary table.
