Use predefined syntax terms to further refine your Docrio+ Advanced Searches.
Files added to Docrio can be searched for using the Docrio Advanced Search feature. While the Advanced Search options can help you narrow down what you’re looking for, sometimes you may need even more help in finding a specific document (or group of documents). Adding syntax terms to your search can help Litify know exactly what you’re looking for.
What are Predefined Syntax Terms?
These are terms that you can add to your Text Content searches to further refine your search results. These can also be referred to as Boolean Searching or Boolean Operators. The current predefined syntax terms you can use are as follows:
- AND
- OR
- NOT
Additionally, you can add formatting syntax to your searches to further refine them. Options for this include:
- EXACT
- PREFER
- PREFIX
- WILDCARD
- FUZZY
For more information on these terms and their usage, see the section below.
Using Predefined Syntax Terms
The following example is using Docrio Advanced Search. Users can also search using predefined syntax terms on record as well.
To use these terms, do the following:
- Open the Docrio Advanced Search menu.
- Enter a word or phrase you wish to search for in the Text Content box. This box searches the body of Docrio documents and it is the only box where syntax terms can be used.
- Add a syntax term, followed by an additional word or phrase. The syntax term MUST be one of our predefined syntax terms and MUST be formatted correctly (see the table below for acceptable formatting).
- Repeat the process as needed to refine your search.
- Adjust additional Advanced Search fields as needed.
- Click Go to run the search.
