After the initial intake process, you might determine that a case is not right for your firm—and not an ideal opportunity for a referral. You have the option to turn down an Intake at any time. Read on to learn how.
How to Turn Down An Intake
- Navigate to Intakes > Intakes.
- Open the intake you wish to turn down.
- Find the Litify Actions tab > Turn Down.
- Select a reason from the Turn Down Reason dropdown.
- Select Confirm.
The intake Status field changes to Turned Down

Turned Down Referral
If this intake began as a referral, turning it down updates the referral and notifies the originating firm that you have turned down the case.
