File Actions allow you to manipulate files found within Docrio. As files are an integral part of any firm, you will likely call upon these actions often to keep your documents organized. This article outlines the various actions that users can perform using files.

Permissions 

File Actions are permission based, and can be adjusted in the Docrio Admin Settings. To locate these settings:

  1. Click the App Launcher.
  2. Search for and launch the Docrio Admin Settings.
  3. Click File Actions.
  4. Select the profile you wish to grant actions to. 
  5. Check the box next to the action(s) you wish to grant.

Using Actions

Use File Actions to quickly interact with files.

  1. Navigate to Litify Matters > Matters > select a Matter Name.
  2. Select the Docrio tab.
  3. Find the Actions column to the right of your file or folder.
  4. Expand the dropdown to select an action.

List of Actions

There are 16 File Actions which can be granted to a Docrio User based on Salesforce and Litify Profiles. 

Copy File

  • Grants the ability to copy files. 

Combine to PDF

  • Allows user to combine files into a new PDF file. The following additional permissions are required to perform this action: Upload and New Version.

Create External Link

  • Grants the ability to crate external links to documents. Also grants the ability to alter, or cancle, the expiration date for external links they create.

Delete File

  • Users with this permission can delete files. We recommend only granting delete to Admins within your Organization. When files are deleted they go into the Salesforce Recycling bin. After 15 days, files are removed from the recycling bin and the file info record can not be restored.

Download File

  • Grants the ability to download files. 

Edit File

  • Grants the ability to edit files using the Docrio Desktop App. The following additional permissions are required to perform this action: Download File, Upload, and New Version.

Manage External Links

  • Users with this permission can view and cancel links from any other user. 

Merge

  • This action allows users to generate new documents from a record; using packets and templates that were created within Docrio Document Generation. The following additional permissions are required to perform this action: Upload and New Version.

Bulk Merge

  • Grants the ability to perform bulk merges. The following additional permissions are required to perform this action: Merge, Upload, and New Version.

Move File

  • Allows users to relocate the selected file to another location. 

Preview

  • Allows users to preview the selected file. 

Split PDF

  • Grants users the ability to split files into multiple PDFs. The following additional permissions are required to perform this action: Upload and New Version.

Upload

  • Allows users to upload files to Docrio. The following additional permissions are required to perform this action: New Version.

New Version

  • Allows users to create a new version of a document. 

View History

  • Grants users the ability to view a document's history. 

View Versions

  • Grants users the ability to view pervious versions of a file.
