Statuses keep you informed about the progress of your referrals. Locate a case's status beneath the status tab on your Referrals page or on the Litify Status field on the referral record. There are three different fields that contribute to statuses: Status, Referral Transaction Status, and Litify Status.

Three fields:

Status field on a referral - The Status on a referral can be: new, pending, active, open, and canceled.

Referral Transaction Status - The status that changes based on which Litify Actions the originating and handling firm use.

Litify Status - This is a formula field based on the Status of a referral and the Referral Transaction Status. Here are the conditions of this formula:

If the Status is "new," then the Litify Status is "new."
If the Status is "active" or the Transaction Status is "sent to attorney" or "attorney interested," then the Litify Status is "under review."
If the Status is "active" or the Transaction Status is "expired" or "cancelled," then the Litify Status is "under review."
If the Status is "pending," then the Litify Status is "pending."
If the Status is "cancelled," then the Litify Status is "cancelled."
If the Status is "active" and the Transaction Status is "active," then the Litify Status is "signed up."
If the Status is "active" and the Transaction Status is "verdict" or "settled," then the Litify Status is "won."
If the Status is "active" and the Transaction Status is "lost," then the Litify Status is "lost."
If the above situations are not met by a referral, the status will default to "Other."

• When an outgoing referral is created, but a handling firm is not selected, the record will have a Litify Status: Other, Referral Status: Draft. The status will remain the same until it is assigned and sent to a handling firm, or until Litify Referrals sync kicks in.

Example of a Litify Status:

Turned Down - The handling firm has chosen not to work the referral. Transaction Status is Cancelled.

Signed Up - The handling firm has chosen to work the case.
Won - The handling firm has won the case. Referral’s status is active, and the Referral Transaction status is Won.
