Litify includes many case types in the managed package. Additionally, you can create custom case types to suit your firm's exact practices. Case types can be local, available, and active. This guide defines what each of these terms means in the context of case types.
Local
Local case types are custom case types you created in your org. Look for the Is Local checkbox to verify that a case type is custom. You cannot edit this setting. All custom case types are local. Local case types map to the ExternalId of LRN case types.
Available
You can use available case types on cases. When you are selecting a case type for new referrals, intakes, or matters, available case types appear in the dropdown list. Set a case type as available on the case type record page. Look for the IsAvailable checkbox.
If you want to remove case types from the list of available case types when opening new intakes or matters, then do the following:
- Disable Case Type sync from the LRN from the Litify Setup > Advanced Sync Settings interface
- With Case Type sync active, each sync cycle will reset the availability of the standard LRN case types
- Uncheck the IsAvailable checkbox on the case type you wish to hide
Note: Case types that are custom or locally created show up regardless of the “Is Available” setting. You must delete the case type to remove it from search results.
Active
Active case types are case types Litify supports in the managed package. When a case type is set as inactive, Litify no longer supports it. Firms can still work on cases that use inactive case types if the case was opened before we made the case type inactive. This is not a setting firms can edit. See this article for a complete list of active Litify case types.
