Default Matter Alerts are a simple way to quickly contextualize a case for am Intake Agent or Attorney. For example, it is important to know when a client is a minor or is deceased.

A user does not have to do anything to see alerts, however, they must be configured from the Matter’s Lightning Record Page Layout. 

Required Permissions 

You must be a Salesforce Administrator to configure Default Matter Alert.

Add Default Matter Alerts to Lightning Record Pages

  1. Open Setup > Object Manager. 
  2. Select the Matter object. 
  3. Select Lightning Record Pages > Page Label > Edit
  4. Find the simpleAlert Custom Litfy Component. 
  5. Drag and drop the simpleAlert Component to the page. 
  6. Define the following values:
    • Type: Warning, Info, Error 
    • Behavior: Dismissible, Not Dismissible 
    • Duration (optional): 
    • Message:  150 character free-text
  7. Complete the Set Component Visibility filter logic. This defines when the alerts should display in the UI to a user.  
  8. Save

Client is Minor 

The following steps should be completed on step 7 of setting up Default Matter Alerts. This logic requires 2 filters.

Client Under 18 Filter

  1. Select +Add Filter.
  2. Complete the following fields:
    • Field Type: Record Field
    • Field: Record > Client > Age
    • Operator: Less Than
    • Value: 18  img62.jpeg
  3. Select Done

Client Over 0 Filter 

  1. Select +Add Filter.
  2. Complete the following fields:
    • Field Type: Record Field
    • Field: Record > Client > Age
    • Operator: Greater Than 
    • Value: 0  img63.jpeg
  3. Select Done

Client is Deceased 

The following steps should be completed on step 7 of setting up Default Matter Alerts.

  1. Select +Add Filter.
  2. Complete the following fields:
    • Field Type: Record Field
    • Field: Record > Client > Is Deceased
    • Operator: Equal
    • Value: True  img64.jpeg
  3. Select Done
