Timekeeping Matter View

With Timekeeping Matter View, users can see Time Entries, make changes to them, and download all Time Entries as a CSV file, right on the associated Matter page! 

This view is very similar to the Time Tracking Admin view. For more information on that view, please see our dedicated article.

Accessing Matter View

Time Entries can be accessed directly from a Matter page. Click the Time tab on the Matter component to view the Time Entries associated with that particular Matter. 

From here you can see the Total Duration, Total Amount, and more in the table displayed. Administrators can customize the table view in Time Tracking Admin Settings.

Individual Actions

Users can take actions on individual Time Entries from the Matter View.

Add an Entry

To add a Time Entry associated with the open Matter:

  1. Click the Add Time Entry button.

  2. Fill out the required details, including who the entry is Related To, the User, and the Date.
  3. Click Save.
  4. The Entry will appear in the list of Time Entries on the Matter.

Edit an Entry

To edit a Time Entry:

  1. Click the Down Arrow Icon.
  2. Click Edit.

    • An Edit Time Entry window opens.
  3. Make the necessary edits.
  4. Click Save

Delete an Entry

To delete a Time Entry:

  1. Click the Down Arrow Icon.
  2. Click Delete.

  3. Click Confirm

Bulk Actions

Not only can Users view and edit individual Time Entries associated with a Matter, they can also perform bulk actions to view and change multiple entries at once. 

Bulk Edit

  1. Check the box next to each entry you wish to edit, or check the top checkbox to select all listed entries.


  2. Click Bulk Edit.
  3. Check the box next to the field you’d like to edit.
  4. Make the desired changes.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Yes, Continue.

Download as CSV

Users can also download all Time Entries Associated with a particular Matter as a CSV file.

To do this, click the Download Icon to automatically export Time Entries as a CSV file.
