Creating a Configuration in Litify Financials Step Three: Assigning and Activating Configurations

This is step three of three for creating a financial configuration in Litify Financials. Be sure you’ve completed the first two steps: Build Balance & Summary and Object Mapping

Note: This step only applies if your Org is using multiple configurations assigned by criteria, as set in Financial Summary Setup

About Assigning Configurations

Assignment is the last step of the configuration creation process. Assigning based on criteria allows your Org to customize financial configurations for each type of case you handle. For example, you might want different configurations for Slip and Fall and Estate Planning cases.

Assigning a Configuration

You'll know you're ready to assign your configuration when each of the previous steps on the configuration page have a green checkmark beside them. Click 'Assign Configuration' to begin.

Next select the values from the assigned field you want this configuration to appear on as set in Financial Summary Setup (ex: Case Type). Click the [Case Type] > Click the right arrow   to move it into the 'Assign To' column.

Use the left arrow     to remove assignments.

Click Done if you're finished assigning the configuration, but you're not yet ready to activate it. You'll be directed back to the configuration page.

Setting a Default Configuration

Additionally, you can assign one default configuration for your Org. This will act as a catch-all for Matters which haven't been assigned a configuration, or for Matters with a new Case Type.

Set your configuration as default by clicking the 'Default Configuration Slider'

Note: You can only interact with the 'Default Configuration' slider when the configuration is deactivated. This is because making changes to active configurations will affect Users. To make an active configuration default, you must deactivate it and then activate it again once the changes have been made. This should be done outside of business hours.

Activating a Configuration

Once you're satisfied with your configuration and its assignments, click 'Done & Activate' on the assignments page, OR click 'Activate' from the configuration page.

Note: Activating a configuration will put it into a Read Only state. You must deactivate configurations to make changes to it or its assignments.

Once activated, your default configuration will have a checkmark beside it on the configurations table in the 'Financial Configurations' tab. You can also see which values have been assigned to the configuration in the table.
