Setting Up Docrio Filing Cabinet

The Docrio Filing Cabinet allows you to view all of your firm's Docrio files in one location. However, before you can get started with this feature, you will want to use the information in this article to ensure that this feature is properly set up.

Prerequisites and Permissions

A user’s ability to view and edit items within the Filing Cabinet is inherited based on their existing Docrio permissions. This means that if a user can see a Matter, and the files within that Matter, the same user will be able to see that content within the Filing Cabinet. 

Additionally, in order for Filing Cabinet to work optimally we recommend that you set the Docrio Default View to Folders as opposed to Lists. This can be done on the Docrio Admin Settings page under Views and Columns.

At present, there is no way to assign more granular permissions to Filing Cabinet users. However, this is something that we hope to introduce in a future release.

Granting the Ability to Create Folders in Filing Cabinet

You can grant users the ability to create folders within the Filing Cabinet via the Docrio Admin Settings. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Docrio Admin Settings.
  2. Select Folder Actions.
  3. Select the profile you want to grant permissions.
  4. Check the box next to Create Filing Cabinet Folder.
