Docrio v9 brings a ton of great new features. Your team can now create and update legal documents in PDF format with PDF Fill. The Input Library gives you a place to see all merge fields being used, the templates they are being used in, and allows you to delete unwanted fields. With a simple document status of "Checked-In" or "Checked-Out" individuals can confidently make edits knowing others on their team aren’t editing the same document.

In addition to these exciting new features, we've also made a number of improvements across the Docrio platform. And finally, we have a whole new batch of bug fixes for you. read through these release notes for more information on everything included in this latest version of Docrio.

Almost all of the items found within this release apply to all Docrio users—this includes both Docrio and Docrio+ users. The exception being some expansions to OCR support. For more information on these Docrio+ updates, please see our Additional Improvements section below.

Be aware that we also updated the Docrio Desktop App—to version 2.7—around the same time that this version of Docrio was released. Please see below for update links for the newest version of our desktop app.

New Features

Below is a list of the main new features that are included within this release.

PDF Builder

With this release, users will have the ability to merge to, and from, a PDF file. This expansion to our document generation abilities is sure to make it even easier to create the documents you need, and get them out to your clients, faster than ever before. To view these new options, just open the Docrio Document Generation tab, and look under the PDF Builder tab.

Document Check-In/Check-Out

We know how important file integrity is to the success of your organization. We also know how frustrating it can be to lose progress on a draft due to a miscommunication with a colleague. So in a move to get everyone on the same page we’ve introduced a new check-in/check-out system to Docrio.

Check documents out while you work on them, check them back in when you’re done. If a colleague has a document checked out that you need to work on, gently “nudge” them with the Request Check In feature. Best of all, view a detailed version history of each document to see who made what changes when.

Merge Input Library

Docrio Input Library is a direct response to customer feedback. We understand that as you use our Document Generation tool and build more and more templates; the amount of Merge Inputs grows exponentially. We heard you when you said there was no easy way to see what inputs were on what templates, or even how to delete them.

With Docrio v9 we’ve addressed this concern by adding a new Input Library. Use this library to see in what templates specific inputs are used, and additional information about those inputs. This will allow you to clean up your list of merge inputs without fear that you’re breaking important templates.
